Located in Winslow, we are a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital serving approximately 30,000 residents across a broad rural region, including members of the Hopi and Navajo Nations.
Since becoming a Critical Access Hospital in 2004, we’ve worked to ensure that exceptional care remains accessible to everyone who calls this region home.

Our Emergency Department is built to deliver timely, life-saving care when every second counts. As a designated Critical Access Hospital, our 13-bed ER includes two fully equipped trauma bays and is staffed 24/7 by a dedicated team of physicians, nurses, and specialists trained to handle a wide range of medical emergencies.
Whether you're experiencing chest pain, a serious injury, or any urgent medical issue, our Emergency Department is ready, day or night, to provide compassionate, expert care right here in Winslow.

Our History: A Legacy of Care in the Heart of Winslow
1948–1950
The Seed Is Planted
With the lease for Winslow General Hospital set to expire in 1950, local leaders began exploring options for a new hospital. Although the lease was temporarily renewed, the vision for a community-owned hospital began to take shape.
1951
Community-Driven Origins
Tragedy turned into purpose when two young women, Carol Lee Doonan and Barbara Dodson, lost their lives in a car accident. Their families established a memorial fund, which became the spark for a new community hospital. Volunteers rallied to support what would become Winslow’s first truly community-built hospital.
January 31, 1954
Winslow Memorial Hospital Opens
After years of grassroots fundraising and collaboration, Winslow Memorial Hospital opened with 16 staff members—marking the beginning of a new era of healthcare in the region.
November 1, 2004
Designation as a Critical Access Hospital
The facility transitions to Little Colorado Medical Center and becomes certified as a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, improving care for rural communities.
2010
Little Colorado Physician's Office (LCPO) Opens
To meet growing outpatient needs, LCMC launches LCPO, offering family practice and specialty care.
2011
Emergency Department Expansion
A major renovation results in a new 13-bed Emergency Department with two trauma bays, enhancing LCMC’s capacity for urgent and life-saving care.
2013
LCPO Expansion
An additional 5,000 square feet is added to the LCPO to accommodate more specialty services and staff.
2014
Infusion Services Launched
LCMC begins offering infusion therapy services, allowing patients to receive advanced treatments without traveling far from home.
2018
Rural Health Clinic Designation
LCMC’s on-campus clinic earns RHC status, increasing support and accessibility for outpatient care.
2022
Wound Care Services Introduced
LCMC expands its specialized care with the launch of comprehensive wound care services for chronic and complex conditions.
2022–2023
Facility Renovations and Technology Upgrades
Telemedicine, imaging, and electronic medical records are enhanced to modernize care.
